Welcome David

We are very pleased to announce that Mr David Mansfield will be the next Headmaster of Dulwich College Beijing. David is an accomplished leader, a passionate scholar and a talented athlete who will bring exceptional qualities to the College and continue to build on its legacy. For the past five years, David has led the Coopers' Company & Coborn School in Upminster, a comprehensive schools for children aged 11 to 18, and he previously held leadership positions at the Southend High School for Girls and King Edward VI Grammar School. David's academic credentials are impressive.  He is a graduate of Cambridge University, where he read History, and he subsequently gained a PGCE from Oxford, postgraduate qualifications in Education from Kent and Hertfordshire Universities, a Diploma in Theology from London and an MBA from Hull. He has been a School Improvement Partner and School Advisor for many schools in London, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, and served as Chair of the Language Colleges Headteachers Steering Group. His Master's thesis on 'Educational Leadership and Complexity Theory' won the NCSL award for dissertation of the year in 2003. A keen sportsman, David has hockey 'blues' from Oxford and Cambridge, played Junior international hockey for England, and sits on the Youth Sports Trust National Steering Group. He serves as Chair of the Trustees of an NGO that supports educational transformation in rural districts of sub-Saharan Africa and is Syndic of Cambridge Asessment, a director of OCR, and a Court Member of Essex University.
