Back-to-Back-to-Back

Dulwich London wins U18 rugby three years in a row

On Saturday Dulwich College won their third Schools Cup in succession, beating Warwick 53-5. ‘Back to back to back’ was the chant from supporters after the semi-final against RGS High Wycombe and it was to be proved right at Twickenham before an excited and appreciative crowd of boys, staff, parents, OAs and Dulwich friends. The game saw inspiring leadership from Felix Maddison, a hat-trick from Anthony Nzegwu, at least three of the eight scores being created by School Captain Ali Neden and three players - Josh Ibunaokpe, Joe Charnley and John Winter - all collected their third winners’ medals. Dulwich - with 22 boys lucky enough to take the field - played outstandingly well.  All the team members joined the College in Years 3, 7 or 9 and have trained under the expertise of the College's coaches.  Master In Charge of Rugby, Sam Howard, remarked: ‘This really is a fantastic achievement and is testament to all the players’ hard work and passion for the game.’ The final score proved to be the second highest in a Schools Cup final since 1993 and this momentous occasion was celebrated in fine and gracious spirit by players and spectators alike.
