DCI Alumnus to intern with OECD

Congratulations to Dulwich International High School Suzhou alumnus, Peter, who has been offered an internship at the world renowned Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Headquartered in Paris, the OECD is an intergovernmental economic organisation with 35 member countries. The OECD, World Bank and International Monetary Fund are known as the three major international economic organisations in the world.

Internships are typically only awarded to citizens of OECD member countries, which China is not. Thanks to his strong academic foundation and recommendation from his professor at Sciences Po, who hoped Peter would be involved in economic research in China, he is now doing research at the directorate of SMEs and Entrepreneurship at the OECD.

Peter graduated from Dulwich International High School Suzhou in 2015 and was one of two students from mainland China who were enrolled in the double major program of Sciences Po and the University of British Columbia. Founded in 1872, Sciences Po is the world's top social science university. He stood out from the other applicants because of his extensive reading and overall ability, including strengths in economics, politics and history.

When asked to share his advice to current Dulwich International High School students, he said, “Spend as much time with parents, teachers and friends as you can - you'll miss them so much!"

Good luck to Peter, who will be majoring in computer science in his third year at the University of British Columbia.
