Diversity in Dulwich Beijing

Dulwich College in Beijing will welcome DJ Spooky, Helen Lin, The Scratch Ambassadors, The Wells Cathedral Choir and the Beijing Youth Orchestra to The Diversity Project. A collaboration between Professor Benoit Granier of the Central Conservatoire of Music in Beijing and Shane O’Shea, Head of Music at Dulwich College Beijing, The Diversity Project is a seven-day festival of music and learning designed to unite wide-ranging and unique musicians from across the globe. The event will feature recitals on each of the seven evenings, coupled with master classes, clinics and professional development opportunities. Programmes will include music production performances, standard Classical repertoire, music from the great English choral tradition, and music composed especially for the occasion. The Diversity Project will culminate in a Gala Concert on Saturday 27th October with a performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto no. 2 by the renowned Beijing Youth Orchestra and fiery pianist Helen Lin. The Music Department at Dulwich College Beijing prides itself on creating opportunities for all music students no matter what genre they like. The Diversity Project and Dulwich College Beijing make a perfect match, one that will inspire all those involved for some time to come. At DCB our students and teachers work collaboratively to offer music students from across Beijing a positive and inspiring environment in which they can create music with no boundaries. The Beijing Youth Orchestra, composed of talented music students from Beijing international schools and top conservatories, is a prime example of this, and the Diversity Project is yet another step in this exciting direction.
