- Dulwich College Shanghai rocks out with Mals Totem
On Thursday 23 October Mals Totem rocked out Dulwich College Shanghai, introducing the students to the secrets of rock music. The four piece band from Berklee College of Music, one of the top music schools in the world, worked with both Junior School and Senior School students during the day, before giving a professional level performance to students, parents and teachers that same evening. The students in the workshops were awestruck at the opportunity to have such a close look at the inner workings of a rock band learning everything from the way each instrument contributes to a whole song, the wide use of effects pedals for guitars and even how to make your voice sound like a robot. The students finished the workshop with a jam session with the band, an experience that will stay them and, no doubt, inspire many to continue experimenting with their music and form their own bands.
