International rugby players and coaches in Dulwich Shanghai

Dulwich College Shanghai was proud to host former Australian Rugby Union coach Eddie Jones and former player Glen Ella, one of the famous Ella brothers who all played for Australia in the 1980s. A former teacher and currently coach of the Japan national team Eddie Jones brings years of experience at an elite level both as former player for New South Wales and having also been coach of Australian provincial sides the Brumbies and the Reds. He was also an integral member of the famous Randwick club sides in the 1980s that featured the Ella brothers and many other international players. Planning had been underway for this visit to Shanghai by Dulwich Shanghai’s Head of Rugby, Mr. Ryan Scott, and coincided with the Shanghai International Rugby Sevens tournament. Students form Senior and Junior Schools all enjoyed their very own coaching sessions and enjoyed some playing time with the Hong Kong national 7s squad. As Ryan Scott stated: “This is a great honour and privilege for our students to get this time with one of the world’s best coaches and with Eddie being a former teacher he really knows how to communicate with them. The children were really excited and it augurs well for a great season of rugby ahead at DCS.”
