Mr Craig Davis
Director of Education
Craig Davis has worked in education for over 25 years in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as a Principal at Mulgrave International School of Vancouver, Director of IB at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore and Vice Principal at West Island School (ESF), Hong Kong. Alongside his roles in individual schools, Mr Davis has also worked as a lead school evaluator, consultant and teacher trainer for IB Asia Pacific and the Council of International Schools (CIS).
As a long-standing teacher of philosophy and literature, Mr Davis has played a significant role in the development of the IB Theory of Knowledge course, particularly in relation to incorporating indigenous perspectives into western education models. A passion for helping students develop rigorous critical thinking has also led to work in promoting evidence based educational research and leadership competencies. Partnering Dulwich College International with the Durham University linked Evidence Based Education group is the latest chapter in this project. Having studied at the University of London and the University of Wales followed by research and lecturing sessions at the University of British Columbia, has provided Mr Davis with a wide vantage point to help international school students decide on next steps after graduation. Having a further opportunity to study at the University of Mississippi (Hattiesburg) also afforded Mr Davis the opportunity to develop his love of music and his earlier career in music journalism. To this end he is still working to complete his PhD thesis on African American literature, music and art.
