2025 Matriculation: Success on Global University Pathways
As the Class of 2025 embarks on their next chapter, we celebrate another year of outstanding university matriculation results. These achievements reflect our students' dedication, the unwavering support of our families and teachers, and the exceptional university counselling expertise across the Dulwich College International (DCI) and Dehong schools.
Global Destinations:
A Diverse Pathway to Excellence
Over the past several years, Dulwich students have continued to receive offers from top universities worldwide, reflecting both their academic excellence and a truly global mindset.
With an impressive IB average score of 37.5 and DCI Schools ranked Top in China IB League for 4 years, our Class of 2025 has once again demonstrated exceptional and diverse university outcomes — not only in the breadth of destinations but also in the richness of academic disciplines, showcasing both diversity and distinction.
The data reveals a continued strength in the US and UK, which remain the top two destinations for DCI and Dehong graduates. This year, the US reclaimed the number one spot, with 29.5% of students choosing American universities — a 0.9% decrease from 2024 — while the UK saw an 8.3% decrease, now accounting for 27.3%.
Beyond these two traditional destinations, we also saw a marked rise in interest in Asia, Australia & New Zealand, and Europe. Asia in particular has become the third most popular destination, increasing from 6.1% last year to 9.7% in 2025, followed by steady growth in Australia and New Zealand (5.4% to 6.8%) and Europe (3.1% to 4.7%) — a clear reflection of our students' global outlook and growing confidence in pursuing opportunities across the world.
US Matriculation:
Academic Excellence at the Highest Level
DCI students achieved exceptional success in the United States this year, earning places at some of the most selective and competitive universities in the world. Among these were ten matriculations to Ivy+ universities — including Brown (2 students), Columbia (2), Cornell (2), Princeton (2), Stanford, and Dartmouth — where international admission rates typically range between 1.94% and 4.35%. Four students chose leading liberal arts colleges such as Barnard, Carleton, Smith, and Swarthmore, where international acceptance rates are as low as 1.44%-7.02%.
Overall, 56% of DCI's US matriculations were to Top 50 universities, marking a 10% increase from 2024. Overall admission rates for international students at this level remain below 10%. Top destinations included Northeastern University (15 students), University of California–San Diego (10), New York University (10), and University of California–Berkeley (8), underscoring our students' academic strength and readiness to thrive in highly competitive environments.
UK Matriculation:
Tradition Meets Ambition
In the UK, DCI students continued to shine across the nation's most prestigious institutions:
- 4 Oxbridge matriculations (Oxford: 1, Cambridge: 3)
- 27.4% of UK matriculations to the G5 universities
- 73.2% of UK matriculations to the Russell Group
Top destinations included UCL (26), University of Manchester (20), King's College London (18), Loughborough University (11), LSE (9), the University of Edinburgh (9) and University of the Arts London (9), reflecting the breadth of disciplines and ambitions among our graduates.
Beyond the UK and US:
Expanding Horizons
In recent years, DCI students have demonstrated not only academic excellence but also a growing confidence and competency in pursuing truly global pathways. The strength of DCI's international education is increasingly reflected in destinations beyond the UK and US, where we are seeing steady and meaningful growth across Asia, Australia & New Zealand, and Europe.
Asia has emerged as the third most popular destination, graduates were enrolling at leading universities such as HKUST (14), HKU (11), Nanyang Technological University (3), Waseda University (2), NUS (2), KAIST, and Seoul National University. Meanwhile, destinations such as the University of Melbourne (17) and the University of Toronto (13) continue to attract DCI students.
This expansion of horizons underscores a key strength of DCI graduates — their ability to navigate and thrive within a wide range of cultural and academic contexts, supported by the globally connected DCI counseling network that empowers them to explore opportunities across continents.
Degrees and Pathways:
A Spectrum of Passions
The breadth of academic interests among DCI and Dehong graduates is one of the school's defining strengths, reflecting both intellectual curiosity and the freedom to pursue individual passions.
STEM continues to be the largest category, chosen by 40.9% of graduates, with 20.3% pursuing natural sciences such as biology, chemistry, and medicine, 15.4% in engineering, technology, or computer science, and 5.2% in mathematics and related fields. Business remains a strong choice at 23.3%, while 16.2% of students have chosen visual and performing arts — a clear reflection of DCI’s nurturing of creativity alongside academic rigor. The humanities and social sciences together account for 13.2%, including 9% in politics, sociology, and psychology, and 3% in law.
From future engineers and entrepreneurs to artists and social scientists, each pathway reflects the individuality and intellectual depth that define a Dulwich education.
