Grow Together: EiM Professional Learning Day

vibrant-community

On 14 November 2025, we held our fourth annual EiM Global Professional Learning Day. It united 2,400 educators and staff from across our global network, hailing from schools across the EiM network, including Dulwich College International, Dehong, HIF, Sherfield School and our newest member, Dulwich College International School Bangkok. For the first time, teams from the Singapore and Shanghai headquarters also participated. The day was a shared commitment to professional growth and educational excellence. A great opportunity for staff to reflect on their shared purpose and the individual contribution each person makes to the success of every student in EiM's schools.

'Today isn't just another professional learning day. It's a statement of who we are as educators. It says that at EiM, we don't just expect growth from our students. We expect it from ourselves.'

Lesley Meyer, EiM Chief Education Officer

the Day

The day began with remarks from d'Arcy Lunn, Group Head of Sustainability and Global Citizenship. He introduced this year's central theme: 'What does it mean to Live Worldwise, and what role does each of us play in bringing it to life?' His message framed the day, making space for every attendee to consider their unique role in bringing the Live Worldwise mission to life.

Fraser White, Founder and Chairman of EiM, then spoke about the day's Live Worldwise theme. His remarks highlighted how we prepare students for the world of the future through strong academic outcomes, Worldwise Events, global experiences and the upcoming Dulwich Bangkok campus. He reaffirmed our commitment to staff development, innovation, wellbeing and the shared belief that Students Come First.

This belief was immediately brought to life by a global student panel from multiple Dulwich and Dehong schools. They spoke thoughtfully about their experiences, clearly demonstrating the skills and values at the heart of Live Worldwise. Hearing directly from students was powerful and impactful, inviting colleagues to pause and consider how daily actions, decisions and relationships shape the student experience across the group.

'Our success is built on a commitment to professional learning, which empowers us to achieve our ultimate goal: to be good people, to make a positive impact in the world and to pursue excellence in all that we do.'

60+ Sessions:

A Toolkit for Future-Ready Teaching

Moving from inspiration to implementation, the core of the day featured 60+ tailored learning live-streams. These sessions created opportunities to engage deeply with important themes and to connect with colleagues across schools. Each workshop aimed to strengthen practical skills and understanding aligned with EiM's values and educational principles. Crucially, sessions went beyond just introducing new tools and supported colleagues in bringing our shared values to life in everyday practice, as illustrated in these diverse sessions:

'We're all navigating a world filled with constant change. New technologies, global shifts and new ways of working are growing rapidly. Days like today, a time to pause, reflect and grow, remind us that our purpose, the thread that ties us all together, doesn't change.'

Lesley Meyer, EiM Chief Education Officer

  • In 'AI in Education: Teammate, not Tool', colleagues moved beyond simple prompt-crafting to discuss how AI could be a collaborative partner in fostering student metacognition and creativity.
  • The 'Solutionary Framework' provided a structured pedagogical approach for guiding students from global awareness to tangible ethical action.
  • Sessions like 'Unlocking Your Hidden Bias' challenged educators to audit their curriculum and questioning techniques to build more inclusive learning environments.

This focus on actionable frameworks gave staff not just ideas but practically applicable models, ensuring the day's learning would find its way into every classroom and office.

From Insight to Impact:

Localising the Learning

True to EiM's collaborative spirit, global insights were immediately translated into local action. During dedicated 'In My Context' sessions, academic staff revised lesson plans and units of work together, embedding new strategies for digital citizenship or sustainability. Simultaneously, support staff developed concrete actions to enhance the student experience, ensuring the 'Live Worldwise' mission is upheld across every touchpoint in our schools.

'We want our students to be globally minded, to collaborate across cultures and to see diversity as strength. We can only nurture that in them if we live it ourselves.'

Lesley Meyer, EiM Chief Education Officer

'We'll keep strengthening our professional learning network as a living ecosystem of people who challenge and inspire each other. Today, I hope you rediscovered the 'why' behind what you do. Together, we are shaping a better world. Together, we Live Worldwise.'

Lesley Meyer, EiM Chief Education Officer

The Professional Learning Day concluded with a group selfie moment that celebrated connection across continents and captured the shared commitment that unites our family of schools. Before closing, every colleague was invited to make a pledge, a personal commitment to carry the day's learning forward into their practice.
