Annabel Parker is focussed on assuring that our students leave Dulwich communicating with confidence and reaching their full potential and with many moving on to study Mandarin at Universities around the world. Annabel comes to us with a wealth of teaching experience in China and UK schools as well as a track record of providing high quality training opportunities for teachers. She has mentored numerous beginner teachers in Mandarin and is an award winning Mandarin teacher having been recognised as a leader of mandarin education in the UK with many media appearances on TV and in the press. Annabel Parker believes that people need to depend on languages to learn languages. According to her former colleagues, they never knew what to expect when they observed her lessons. She has a passion for creating a fun environment in which teachers facilitate the process of learning through student led activities. "In China we have the best opportunity to teach Mandarin and I believe we have a responsibility to do so. I took compulsory English growing up in Shanxi Province and earned a degree in English Education at university but I didn’t learn to speak English with confidence until I depended upon the language to communicate with colleagues at work and in class", said Annabel. Annabel is responsible for the Mandarin programme across the Dulwich college international network. She is putting together a plan with an ambitious objective “every student will reach their full potential in Mandarin and confident to use these skills in their next stage of their life.
