Student Profile: A Dream Come True

My name is Mudit Gupta and I study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Dulwich College Shanghai. I moved to Shanghai from Mumbai 3 years ago, and since I have been involved in numerous activities in and out of school that have helped me develop as an individual.

In school, last year I held the post of Academic Prefect, which helped me develop my leadership abilities and gave me an opportunity to work in the student council. I also initiated numerous projects such as "Question of the Week".

Outside of school, I enjoy playing football and I have had good experiences coaching the Dulwich Under-11 Boys football team who went on to win the Dulwich Cup. In addition to this, as a part of the Dulwich Robotics Club, my team also won the Innovation Award at the First Tech Challenge held in Shanghai.

Undoubtedly, one of the highlights of high school has been my trip to Cambridge University, where I was invited to go for an interview and test for Chemical Engineering. My initial thoughts about being admitted to Cambridge seemed rather ambitious and more of a dream than a reality. However, I carried out in depth preparations with a series of mock interviews and refreshed my conceptual understanding of Science and Mathematics. Since the outset, I had known that my chances of succeeding were slim, so focused on how the interview could help me improve as an individual. Having done my part preparing, all I could do was anxiously wait for the result. In the end, I got accepted to study Chemical Engineering at Churchill College Cambridge. I would like to especially thank my parents, teachers, university counsellors and friends for believing in me and helping me achieve this feat.
