From meetings with my counselor back in Year 10 and 11, I already knew I wanted to pursue studies in Computer Science or Engineering.

"Although I did not have a dream school or set destination, I was quite intrigued by the University of Toronto’s Computer Science and Engineering programs. Being located at Canada’s technology hub and largest city establishes the perfect environment for me to pursue my studies in my field, in addition to broadening my perspectives.

The University of Toronto also offers flexibility between disciplines in their programs, presenting an opportunity for me to pursue other interests in my undergraduate degree. More importantly, the pandemic prevented me from visiting my extended family in Toronto, as such I was eager to spend my university time with them. By the end of my research, I was quite sure the University of Toronto was my best fit."

"I also applied to numerous other institutions in Canada and the United States to ensure a reasonable balance within my university applications. I reached out to my counselor regularly during my application process, from guidance on writing supplemental essays to discussing ambitions and goals for my university experience. I submitted my applications early and received numerous offers from other institutions. After considering all the factors, it was an easy choice for me to accept the University of Toronto’s offer for my next journey."
