Camps

Over six days, students move from the rehearsal room to the stage, working with LITA’s West End professional team as a theatre company to create and perform a musical theatre production. Founded in London in 2013, LITA is a professional performing arts education organisation whose core team continues to work across musical theatre, drama, television and film, while collaborating with international schools around the world.

The programme is led by performers, directors, choreographers and musical directors with professional stage experience. Representative tutors include Noel Sullivan, whose West End credits include Grease and Chicago; choreographer and creative director James Bennett; Nikki Schofield, with more than 20 years of international stage experience; and George Ure, whose credits include Wicked.

Students work through character, dialogue, singing and dance, bringing each element into staging, scene work and full-company rehearsals as the production develops. Acting, voice and choreography are built around the same piece, with students responding to professional feedback, making adjustments and gradually bringing the different elements together for the stage. The programme draws on festive favourites including Frozen, A Christmas Carol, Elf, White Christmas, The Snowman and The Grinch. Final songs, scenes and performance material will be selected according to the teaching and production plan for each programme.

By the end of the six days, students will have experienced the full creative journey from rehearsal to live performance. They will gain a stronger understanding of how acting, singing and dance work together to serve character, story and stage, while also experiencing the working methods and rehearsal process of professional musical theatre.

Ten days to discover a Finland that goes far beyond Santa Claus and the Northern Lights. From universities, design and city life in Helsinki to the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, and further north into forests, frozen lakes and a Finnish youth camp, the journey brings education, culture, nature and winter life together in one route. Families travel from city to Arctic north, seeing how the different sides of Finland connect.

The journey begins in Helsinki. Temppeliaukio Church, Helsinki Cathedral, the Design Museum and Design District introduce the city through its history, architecture and design. At Heureka Science Centre, the University of Helsinki and Oodi Central Library, students encounter science, higher education and public learning spaces from different perspectives and see how learning can become part of everyday city life.

The journey then continues north to Rovaniemi. Families cross the Arctic Circle at Santa Claus Village and visit Arktikum to explore the geography, ecology, history and climate of the Arctic region. Further north, life moves into a very different setting. Forests, snow and frozen lakes become part of the everyday landscape, while huskies, reindeer, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing and Sámi culture begin to connect through several days of living in the north. Along the way, students gain a more tangible understanding of how the natural environment can shape the way people live, the culture around them and the choices they make.

This is also a journey that children and parents can experience in their own ways. Children encounter a new language environment, camp life and plenty of firsts; parents have time to experience Finland’s cities, nature and everyday life for themselves. After ten days, families may remember different places and different moments — children have their own Finland, while parents have their own time in the north.

The programme is jointly supported by EIMx and Funlink Education. Funlink coordinates local resources and programme logistics in Finland, while EIMx oversees programme selection and delivery from the perspectives of learning value, family experience and quality. Each family will also have a dedicated communication group, with a clear point of contact supporting them from registration and pre-departure preparation through to communication and coordination during the journey.

Designed for students from Y1–Y9 / KG–G8, the programme offers six learning pathways, shaped around different ages and stages of learning. Students progress from early speaking and expression to original speeches and structured debate, with no more than eight students in each class.

In the mornings, students explore themes such as economics, space, international relations and finance. Through reading, observation and discussion, they begin to form their own judgements. In the afternoons, they bring that thinking into speech and debate — considering how a point of view is formed, what evidence supports it, and how to understand and respond when others see things differently.

Students have time to try, revise and try again. We hope they leave with more than a speech or a debate: the ability to form clearer judgements and express themselves with greater accuracy and confidence. Whether they later find themselves in a larger classroom, speaking to an unfamiliar audience or encountering a new issue, they will be better able to form their views from evidence and explain them clearly.

Students already encounter AI in many parts of everyday life. This programme gives them the chance to understand more of what sits behind the tools they use. Over seven days, they will explore AI and AGI, neural networks, Transformers, large language models and generative AI through sessions in Hong Kong university settings and at SenseTime. Through programming, model calls and AIGC creation, students will put these ideas into practice and develop a better understanding of how the technology works.

Students will also spend time on the campuses of The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, seeing first-hand what university learning and research are like. By the end of the programme, each student will complete an AIGC project and explain the ideas, tools and methods behind it.

Over the week, students will go from using AI to understanding more of how it works, and finally to creating something of their own.

Students will form their own “film crew” and make a short film from beginning to end. They start with a story and storyboard, then move on to AI-generated visuals, voice-over, music, editing and post-production. AI is part of the making process throughout: students try different prompts, compare the results, and decide which images, sounds and pace best fit the story they want to tell.

Both the 3-day and 5-day courses take students through the full filmmaking process. Working in different production roles, each team develops its film together, making changes as the work takes shape. By the end, an initial idea has become an original AI short film ready to be screened. The course finishes with the AI Film Festival, where each “film crew” premieres its work and talks about how it was made.

The programme brings learning Mandarin and using Mandarin closely together. Each day is built around a theme connected to students’ own lives, with new vocabulary and expressions then carried into cultural experiences such as Chinese calligraphy, traditional pottery, tea culture and traditional tea-making, paper cutting, and traditional Chinese theatre. Through writing, making, observing and discussion, students continue to use the Mandarin they have learnt that day. The programme follows an intensive learning rhythm, with task difficulty adjusted according to students’ age and current Mandarin level, so that each cultural experience becomes an opportunity to learn about Chinese culture through the language itself.

Each day leads to a clear task: presenting a piece of work, explaining a choice or responding to questions. By the fifth day, students bring together the language, work and cultural experiences they have accumulated in a “My Chinese Heritage Journey” Mandarin showcase. They may leave with a piece of pottery, a paper cut or a Chinese name written in ink; what stays with them is the experience of expressing their own ideas more clearly in Mandarin.

The course draws on the approach of Yale University’s first-year writing seminars, where thinking, discussion and writing develop together. Over five days, students begin with a real experience of their own. Through reading, discussion, writing and repeated revision, they return to details, feelings and choices that are easy to overlook. They learn to decide what is worth writing about, and how to make it clear, precise and worth reading.

Each student will complete a 750–1,200-word reflective essay in English. For students aged 12–15, the aim is not simply to practise English writing. It is to learn how to look back on an experience, work out what they think about it, and shape those thoughts into a complete piece of writing with clear structure and detail. This experience will also help when they later write Personal Statements, Personal Essays and other forms of personal writing, giving them a clearer sense of where to begin and how to turn an experience into a piece of writing that feels genuinely their own.
