Dulwich Shakespeare Festival 2018

The performing arts have always played a major role in Dulwich College International’s holistic approach to education. Students study the arts as part of the academic curriculum throughout their school life.

One of the biggest annual events at Dulwich College International is Dulwich Shakespeare Festival, which was hosted by Dulwich College Beijing this year. The Dulwich Shakespeare Festival runs in collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company Education Department.

This year, around 150 students and teachers from six schools within the Dulwich College International network participated in the event. Together with exceptional RSC Education practitioners and our passionate teachers, Dulwich College International students participated in over 45 performance workshops, over 10 technical workshops and most importantly produced eight stunning performances all in the course of three days.

As the exclusive international school partner with RSC Education in China, Dulwich College International offers residencies at the schools hosted by RSC Education practitioners, tailored student workshops, and access to the RSC’s online resources as well as RSC performances in the UK and Asia. The programme culminates in student performances across the DCI network. In addition to student activities, there is a structured programme of Professional Learning for Drama and English teachers across the Dulwich network supported by online resources.

The partnership with RSC Education has enabled our students to enjoy Shakespeare’s work, lifting their aspirations, and teaching them to believe in their own abilities.
